1984 Suburban

Had a kid and decided I needed something way more family friendly. Naturally a Suburban was my first choice. Found this one pretty cheap, small block with a 700R4 and reasonable miles. Had 35's and a lift on it within a month. Brent Foes fronted the tires off of one of his previous race truck builds and fab'd up the roof rack. Wife fell out of it several times. Crawling above Cucamonga in this shot. Right after this was taken I dropped the right rear wheel off the cliff and romped the throttle to recover, rig launched up the embankment, nearly rolled and dropped back onto the road. My then three YO (you can see top of his head) was balling, not because we had nearly met our maker, but he had splattered Dr Pepper in his eyes.

This is post motor build. Folks at Turbo City made that one happen for me. Fresh 350 with cam, Thorly headers and a smog legal throttle body conversion. Ran like stink, although eventually ate the trans and rear axle. I really liked this machine. Spoke to the survivalist in me. Shown here picking up the Scrambler project. Scored this thing for a K, but it needed some serious love.
